Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, and meet our experienced guide who will lead you to your next destination for check-in at the Guest house and overnight. (Victoria View guest house)

Day 2 - Drive to Mabamba

After morning breakfast, we shall drive to Mabamba Bay which is adjacent to Lake Victoria in search of the stunning Shoebill stork and other Bird species such as European marsh Harrier, African marsh Harrier, African Jacan, lesser Jacana, papyrus Gonolek, Yellow-billed Duck, Blue checked bee-eater, African Jacana and many other bird species and continues to lake Mburo National park and overnight. Day 3 - Morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park

After breakfast, we shall go for the morning game drive in Lake Mburo National Park and hear our Target bird species include: Red-faced Barbet, Black colored Barbet, long-tailed cisticola, Green-backed pytilia, Bare-faced Go-away-bird, and many other species, and in the afternoon boat cruise looking for the African finfoot and overnight at Rwakobo Rock.

Day 4 - Transfer to Mgahinga National Park

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Mgahinga National Park, which is located in southwestern Uganda and borders Rwanda and Congo, and stay overnight.

Day 5 - Birding in Mgahinga Gorilla national park

Birding in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, and our target species will be most of the Albertine rift endemic species, including Rwenzori Turaco, Rwenzori double-colored sunbird, Dusky crimson wing, and many more, and overnight (Mucha Lodge)

Day 6 - Drive to Ruhija

After breakfast, we shall drive to Ruhija, which is part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and we shall stop along the way in Echuya Forest Reserve for Birding and overnight in Ruhija. (Trekkers Taven)

Day 7

After breakfast, we shall go for a full day of birding in  MUBWINDI swamp. This is the swamp in the park that gave Bwindi National park its name. Here we shall be targeting the Albertine endemic species, including the Grauer’s Broadbill, which you can only find here in East Africa. Looking for this bird is like looking for the green needle in green grass.  Other target species include Rwenzori Bati, the Regal sunbird, Rwenzori Apalis, the Yellow-eyed black flycatcher, Grey chested Babbler, Doherty’s Bushshrike, Lagdens Bushshrike, and many other species and overnight. Day 8 - Transfer to Bwindi, Buhoma sector

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Bwindi, Buhoma sector, where the headquarters are located. We shall have a stopover at the “NECK” for Birding. This is a very interesting place for Birding as it has unique bird species such as Chapin’s flycatcher, Black bee-eater, many collared Bushshrike, Cassin’s grey flycatcher, African Black Duck, other species, and overnight Buhoma. Day 9 - Gorilla Trekking

After breakfast, we shall carry our packed lunches and go to the UWA head office for the Gorilla briefing and go for Gorilla trekking and overnight (Haven lodge).

Day 10 - Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the game drive and birding in search of the tree-climbing lions overnight.

Day 11 - Boat cruise at the Kazinga channel and Birding

After breakfast, we shall go for the morning boat cruise at the Kazinga channel and Birding, and later continue to Fort Portal, which is the Tourism City, and overnight. (Mountains of the Moon)

Day 12 - Drive to Semliki National Park

After breakfast, we shall drive to Semuliki National Park, which is considered the Birding Haven of the country. This park is adjacent to the Ituri forest of Congo, so here we expect to see many bird species which you can’t find anywhere in East Africa, Such as the Orange-cheeked waxbill, Maxwell’s weaver, Red Billed Dwarf Hornbill, White-crested Hornbill, Yellow-footed flycatcher, Black Dwarf Hornbill, Grey-throated Rail, Nahans francolin, and many others. Most of the species here come from West Africa and overnight in Fort Portal. ( Mountains of the Moon).

Day 13 - Transfer to Kibale National Park

After breakfast, we shall transfer to Kibale National Park, which is home to the Chimpanzees. We shall stop along the way for Birding and in the afternoon do the community birding in Bigodi swamp and overnight (Kibale Forest lodge

Day 14 - Chimpanzee Trekking and Birding

After breakfast, we shall go for Chimpanzee trekking and Birding in search of the Green-breasted pitta and overnight. (Kibale Forest lodge)

Day 15 - Transfer to Masindi

After breakfast, we transfer to Masindi, and we shall have several stopovers for Birding and overnight (Masindi Guest house)

Day 16 - Drive to Budongo Royal Mile for Birding

After breakfast, we shall drive to Budongo Royal Mile for Birding, as this area is a special place for Birding. This is a place where King Kabalega used to go for Bird watching, so it’s a royal place and overnight (Masindi Guest house).

Day 17 - Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

After breakfast, we shall drive to Murchison Falls National Park, which is the biggest National park of Uganda, and we shall bird along the way and overnight. (Pakuba lodge)

Day 18 - Game drive and Birding

After breakfast, we shall go for the game drive and Birding, and in the afternoon boat cruise and overnight. (Pakuba lodge)

Day 19 - Drive to the top of the falls

After breakfast, we shall drive to the top of the falls, which is the strongest falls in the worl,d and continue to Ziwa sanctuary for Rhino tracking, and continue to Entebbe and overnight. (Victoria View Guest House)

Day 20 - Birding in the Botanical Gardens in Entebbe

After breakfast, we shall go for birding in the Botanical gardens in Entebbe, and in the afternoon, transfer to the Airport for Visa clearance and fly back home.
